Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the
Mazda MX-5 in WA
Supporting Camp Quality
(October 31st and November 1st 2009)
October 28th 2009 is the 20th anniversary of the launch of the MX-5 in Australia. To celebrate this occasion your club is organising a special weekend of events on October 31st and November 1st, under the title 20West.
In order to secure locations and accommodation and to organise catering etc., we now need commitments and deposits from our members.
Following a survey of our members, we realise that you would like to select those events that best suit your time and interests. We are offering five “packages” from which you can choose. More packages would create a significant problem and after much discussion we have settled on these five. First, here are all of the events over the weekend:
Events
Saturday October 31st
- Track Day
Saturday morning at the Collie Motorplex will be for both standard and modified MX-5s to take part in timed track events called regularities and fun events.
Note that the track may also be available for tuning runs after the Miata
Games later in the afternoon. - Saturday Social Cruise
For those not interested in the track event, there will be a social cruise focussed on the Ferguson Valley. - Saturday Lunch and Miata Games
Those involved in both track and cruise are invited to come together at the Collie Motorplex for a buffet lunch followed by the Miata Games, a popular pursuit at North American MX-5 gatherings. - Dinner
All the day’s participants are invited to join together for an informal dinner in Bunbury.
Sunday November 1st
- MX-5 Show & Shine
Sunday only participants from Perth are invited to join the Saturday participants for a Show and Shine gathering at a public venue in Mandurah (Hall Park if available). This will also be the showplace for our partnership with Camp Quality. - Sunday Social Cruise
All the participants are invited to join in a social cruise to the location of the 20th Anniversary Lunch. - 20th Anniversary Lunch
The final event will be held at a location close to Perth and will include presentations at the lunch venue.

These are referred to as Option 1(a), Option 2(a) and Option 3(a) in the table below.
Please note that beverage costs are generally borne by each participant and for those staying in Bunbury on Friday night, meals and entertainment on Friday night are not included.
A suggestions for couples, one of whom wishes to take Option 1 and the other who wishes to take Option 2, is to do a deal with a like-minded couple such that one car goes around the track while the other cruises the Ferguson Valley.
Registration
Participation costs are based on two-thirds of our total membership taking part, no sponsorship, except that which is provided to member participants out of club funds, and current indications of costs. The club reserves the right to adjust these costs according to the number of participants, sponsorship and any revisions to current quotes. Each participant will be informed of adjustments as early as possible.
Prices vary from $40 to $310 depending on the different options you choose and if you are a club member or not.
Please contact treasurer@mx5club.com.au to register your interest and request copies for the information sheet and event pricing.
