30/10/03 - Dont Drink And Drive
In 1999, 26 per cent of all fatal traffic crashes had at least one driver (or rider) with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.05 per cent or more.
Alcohol impairs one's ability to control a motor vehicle and research suggests that at a BAC of 0.05 per cent, the national legal limit, the risk of being involved in a traffic crash is doubled than that of a person who has not been drinking at all.
The following guide depicts the number of standard drinks that a person may be able to consume to stay under a 0.05 per cent BAC.
