01/01/02 - MX-5 Ferrari Hybrid

SST turns MX-5 into Ferrari Hybrid

Perth tuning house SST have begun a project to rear mount a Ferrari engine in an NA MX-5

What happens when you hand a Eunos Roadster and a bent Ferrari to SST?

1st update: I haven't had time to find exact details so here's a few major points from Steve at SST who was very helpful and keen to show me this project.


  • Ferrari Rear Engine, the car has been lengthened slightly

  • Ferrari Calipers and AP Racing Disks

  • Fuel Cell and Radiator under the bonnet

  • New front being designed is said to look like a Honda Integra

  • Oil coolers in front of rear wheels<

  • The rear of the car will be built to look more like a Ferrari than an MX-5
