Sunday 6th of October 2019 - Country Cruise - Five Valley Dash V

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Australian Launch of the MX-5 your President invites you to join him on a long spirited drive through the Collie, Ferguson, Preston, Blackwood and Capel Valleys for the opportunity to spend some time on roads further afield. The 450 km drive along secondary roads takes you into the forests of the Geographe Bay hinterland, farmland, hills, vines, National Parks, State Forests and of course that magic bit of twisting black-top along the Blackwood River.

We meet at the Dôme Café in Pinjarra 83 km south of Perth from 8 am onwards if you want to have brekkie at the Dôme, or in time for the 9 am departure if you are having yours beforehand.

Leg one takes us from Pinjarra to the Bush Shack Brewery in the Ferguson Valley for a regroup / leg stretch. Leg two take us to the Nannup Hotel for lunch.

Leg three takes us to the Green Door Winery for a regroup / leg stretch before we continue on leg 4 to Sandy Cove Tavern on the banks of the Murray River some 82 km south of Perth to reflect on the day's drive and share some stories before you make your own way home.

It is not a relaxed tour of the region with long lunches and coffee breaks; it is about the drive and the roads. This spirited drive may challenge a single driver, or it will be a bit more laid-back (but no less fun) for two. It won’t be a navigation exercise; the instructions are straight forward and will be mailed to you in advance so you can put them in your GPS if you want to.

All in all you are looking at a total distance of some 615 km; a bit more if you hail from the northern suburbs and a bit less if you are a southerner.
