The Just Plane Interesting

The MX-5 Club cruise on the 1st Sunday of each month (but to avoid the 1st Day of the year we will be a week late this month).

We meet at Burswood (click here to view a map) at 9AM for a 9:30 AM start.

For the first cruise of 2012 Bob Sharpe is taking us on a run through the hills and the outer suburbs to finish at the Runway Café and Bar at Jandakot Airport. This venue will suit the budget conscious and provides a full a la Carte menu at various prices or platters at $13.50. You can sip, slurp or skol your drinks at the bar or eat at the tables in air-conditioned comfort while enjoying the panoramic view of the hills interrupted by a myriad of aircraft and helicopters passing by. You can also share your best or worst aeroplane stories with other club members; everybody has at least one aeroplane or airport story to tell.

A few hundred metres up the road you can picnic in the fresh, albeit probably hot, air at a lookout with a view over the runways. For an added diversion you can stop in at the famous SPUD SHED situated nearby. You won’t be too late because it opens 24 hours daily. This run will be just “plane” interesting and you own an MX-5 so you are already interesting. Don’t miss this one, be Biggles for a day!
