Sunday 3rd of January 2016 - Monthly Cruise - Bob's Collectors Cruise

No, we are not talking about a part of an exhaust system; we are talking about one of those rare collections of unique vehicles that Bob Sharpe always seems to be able to find for our first cruise of the year. However this year will be a little different. Instead of a collection of cars it will focus on just one car, the Aussie Invader and Rosco McGlashan.

But it’s called a collectors cruise for a reason, so whilst we won’t be visiting a collection Bob is putting together a moving one; its shaping to be a repeat of the run two years ago when we had 70 vehicles attending with the Ferrari, Jaguar, Mustang and even a few biker boys showing interest to join the cruise.

This will be a unique opportunity to inspect the workshop and hear from Rosco himself about the history and future of his attempts to break the world land speed record with a car built right here in WA. This is a genuine on going David and Goliath battle against the Americans and the British who are spending many millions in attempts to raise the world land-speed record and if Rosco is successful it will be world wide news.

Bob understands that Rosco has already broken the record but it was a one way run. The return pass was thwarted by bad weather and therefore not a recognised record run.

We meet near the Muzz Buzz at the Midland Centrepoint Shopping Centre at 309 Great Eastern Highway, Midland (Click here to view a map) at 9:00 and depart 9:30 am sharp and wind its way north to finish in the Mullaloo area.

There is a $5 per person entry fee to see the facility; this will be your chance to tell your grand kids that you actually saw the workshop, heard the story, met the man and supported the project. Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of Australian history and support a true Aussie battler who may become an Aussie hero and legend.
